According to a Reuters interview, Sony President Ryoji Chubachi said that PS3 will not be reduced in price although their is evidence to the contrary.
As you can see Circuit City has the PS3 listed at $100 dollars less than it is currently going for. 1UP.com was first on the scene and asked Sony Computer Entertainment America about the price drop. They were told that, "Circuit City hasn't announced any price drop on PS3, so we have no comment." When the scan hit the web Sony was quick to decline to comment, but GameDaily cites an anonymous "merchandising manager at one of the world's biggest retailers" that the price drop doesn't just affect Circuit City.
