On 1Up.com's website this week they will be running a week long exclusive on the upcoming title from EA, Army Of Two. Army of Two is being hyped as the best co-op experience in a first person shooter ever. And they don't stop there. They want Army of Two to be a co-op game rather than just having co-op be a mode of gameplay. So, other than trying to produce the first co-op game, what makes Army of Two different from games like Gears of War or Halo? Well the team at EA looked at games like Gears of War and Halo and wanted to build off of that. They asked themselves what they would do to add to that kind of experience you got from those games. And what they thought of was......the Aggrometer. Sounds familiar right? Well it should be if you have played any kind of online MMO. Aggro refers to the amount of "hate" one player has on an enemy; that being determined by how much damage they are doing to said enemy. So in Army of Two, let's say your buddy is smoking the enemy and you are kind of hanging back. Well your buddy's aggrometer will start leaning towards his character portrait and enemies in the game will focus on him rather than you. This allows you to make all kinds of tactical decisions and really opens up the gameplay.
