Mario Strikers Charged will have online multiplayer, and it's a Wii game? Could someone who's tight with Satan ask him if hell has frozen over? Oh, it hasn't? Well, color me surprised. In addition to new maps, new captains, and new sidekicks, this title will be the first sports game for the Wii that you will be able to play other people online. Not only will you be able to play 1v1 matches but you will be able to have a friend join up with you and allow both of you to play online against another 2 man Strikers team. If you thrive on competition you will be pleased to know that you will be able to play ranked matches and if you just want to play with a friend there will also be un-ranked matches. A simple match making service will pair you up (hopefully) with a similarly skilled player so you don't end up getting destroyed and frustrated. From what I have seen in the video demonstration at the Nintendo Media Summit it looks like Mario Strikers Charged will be just as addicting as the original game. Plus, you have to be excited about the prospect of finally being able to play online in 1v1 and 2v2 games. The current release date for Mario Strikers Charged is July 30, 2007.
